Mirror, mirror, on the wall…

…who’s the weaselliest one of all? Startling unanimity among the readership, as Lukashenko’s stunted but otherwise separated-at-birth twin Vladimir Putin romps home unopposed. I was expecting at least one pointed counter-culture comment about how W’s eyes are too close together to be entirely trustworthy, but no.

I hope people don’t think we’re all hopeless neo-cons here. I’d hate to live in a world where that could be true.

Putin and Lukashenko doing their “fun house mirror” impersonation yesterday, courtesy of “Dictator of the Month”. One assumes that this site is tongue in cheek, but when you see captions in German you can never be quite sure, can you?

Does one ever have week without the computer going bananas? Just sorted my printer and my site meter. What next? I think Putin has a look of Mel Ferrer. The pop-eyes.

Stunted brother indeed, Ivan. He's so damn diminutive--big Luka musta gotten all the milk from their evil mom's breasts in that land of penury. Once again, this confirms my point: we need to be on the lookout for short, beady-eyed, skinny men. They're up to no good.

It's a good thing they elect tall people to the White House around here. They've learnt their lesson with Nixon.

I'd hate to think that young Alex might take anything I said personally, Earl. As a card-carrying counter-revolutionary right-deviationist, it's purely business for me.

Hi Pi. Sadly, no - but this particular glitch is epsecially annoying. Can't seem to pin down the cause. Anyone else had the pic upload feature die on them?

And Des, I won't hear a word against Nixon. He may have been short, but at least he was wide. In college he was a tackle dummy, you know. Might explain a lot, that...

Apparently at random, Blogger finally allows me to upload a pic, so now the post appears in its intended form. Don't tell me if you preferred it the other way, as I'll be hurt, and you wouldn't want that, would you?

Not sure your rule of thumb goes far enough, 3H. Unfortunately the worst of them always have bunkers...

Oh, shit. I didn't know Tricky Dick was so tall. Sorry. He appears diminutive in most of the photographs I've seen of him. Probably because his soul was so small and crummy.

Des, some of the rest of us, i.e. 5 foot sixish Americans, who don't weigh much might have our feeling hurt by your post. You should be more sensitive.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to conquer something.

Cheers.

Apologies to everyone who felt slighted, Mr. Sherman. I'm not that tall myself--in fact, all clothes I buy in this country must be in size S to fit me. You Anglo-Saxon guys are enormous (heightwise, I mean).

Ivan the Terrible said...

Ah, Des, that's true in so many ways. If you only knew...

Desargues said...

Well, Ivan, I'll politely decline that kind of knowledge. But I'm sure Mrs Terrible must have had very...erm... solid evidence for that claim. :-)

Well, it's not as if she's given me anything in writing. But then she has no basis for comparison anyway. She was a very innocent creature when I met her.
